Community garden opens in Edgar

EDGAR (WAOW) -- A central Wisconsin village is getting something the whole community can share in.

Boy Scout Troop 337 put the finishing touches on a community garden in Edgar Saturday.

The garden's creator, 13-year-old Jean-Luc Grondin, started it as an Eagle Scout project. He says about 10 plots of land have been reserved so far.

Some of the fruits and vegetables will go to the Circle of Joy food pantry.

"Edgar's a small community," said Grondin. "I wanted something that would help Edgar grow and expand a little bit and it'll bring the community closer together."

Planting of the garden will start Sunday. There are still plots available to reserve free of charge.
