Stratford man sentenced to 5 years in prison

MADISON (WAOW) – A 25-year-old Stratford man has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for possessing firearms and ammunition as a felon, a prosecutor said Thursday.

Tyler M. Perkins was convicted in U.S. District Court in April and was sentenced Wednesday, U.S. Attorney John Vaudreuil said in a statement.

Perkins was charged after investigators seized six guns, a zipgun, a silencer and two explosive devices from his home in January, Vaudreuil said. One of the guns was stolen, he said.

Perkins has a prior felony conviction for the manufacture and delivery of marijuana, the prosecutor said.
