Treasure hunting for geo-caches

It's a modern way to treasure hunt called geo-caching.

Nearly 50 Wisconsin state parks are offering the activity to parkgoers, including Rib Mountain State Park.

Park officials say visitors go online to get the coordinates of the different hidden containers or geo-caches.

He says treasure hunters then use a GPS to search for the surprises hidden in the forest.

"Find them and get out and explore areas of the park that maybe they wouldn't normally get to," said William Bursaw, the Rib Mountain State Park Property Manager. "It's a fun way to get people outside and still using technology."

The park manager says about 25 geo-caches are hidden throughout Rib Mountain State Park.

Geo-caching is a growing hobby across the United States.
