UPDATE: Train fire in Junction City

JUNCTION CITY - Part of a train caught fire Saturday morning in Junction City, according to Portage County Sheriff's officials.

A sergeant from the Portage County Sheriff's Department says a rail maintenance repair unit started burning at about 8 a.m.

Officials say they don't what started the fire.

The sergeant says no people were hurt.

She says the train also had a small diesel leak.

The sergeant says the train's Hazmat crews and DNR officials were on scene to clean the leak.


Crews are responding to a train fire in Junction City, according to Portage County dispatch officials.

Officials say the fire happened near 8 a.m. at Main Street and Morgan Avenue in Junction City.

The Rudolph Fire Department is on the scene.
