STEVENS POINT (WAOW) -- Healthy living for all ages was the message behind Saturday morning's Walk Wisconsin event.
Walk Wisconsin is a non-competitive walking marathon.
Organizers say 1,700 people representing 16 different states came out for the walk.
They say the course is like a walking tour of Stevens Point.
The relaxed atmosphere is one of the reasons organizers say people are drawn to Walk Wisconsin.
"You're not chip-timed and there's no bib on your front half and so people are really excited to get out and walk and do something that's non-competitive in nature," said Sara Brish, a member of the planning committee. "It really allows all ages and all abilities to participate."
Walkers had the choice to do a full, three quarters, half or quarter marathon.
There was also a Kid's Walk put on by the Central Wisconsin Children's Museum.
