Saturday Sports Report: Weather delays several events

Rain delayed day two of the WIAA Track and Field Championships in La Crosse. The event was stopped during the early afternoon, and resumed around 4:30 p.m. Marathon highlighted the day, claiming second place in the Division 3 boys meet with a score of 38.
The Edgar girls' quest for their fifth straight Division 3 title fell short, as the team finished in 8th. Newman Catholic girls placed 5th as a team.
In Division 2, Nekoosa finished in a tie for 16th while the Papermakers' girls team tied for 13th place.
SPASH was the highest finishing boys team in Division 1, tying for 14th. On the girls side, Wausau West finished in a tie for 13th.
Individual champions include:
Morgan Malm, Loyal (Division 3) - 110 Meter Hurdles
Devan Gertschen, Marathon (Division 3) - Pole Vault
Kristian Welch, Iola-Scandanavia (Division 3) - Long Jump
Marathon's 4 x 100 meter relay team made up of Matt Matel, Brandon Karlen, Ethan Seubert and Jaren Olsen. (Division 3)
