Marshfield school board selects new superintendent

MARSHFIELD (WAOW)- A Minnesota educator is the Marshfield School District's new Superintendent.

The school board selected Dee Wells during a meeting Thursday night. Wells is currently the Superintendent at Inver Grove Heights School District near Saint Paul.

Wells formerly was an administrator at Medford and has 12 years of Superintendent experience. Wells says she wanted to move back Wisconsin.

"I look forward to working with all the families in the district to insure that there is student centered excellence in all of the schools," said Wells.     "I think we are going to work together the board and I and the rest of the staff to make sure that we are exceeding everyone's expectations."

The school board offered her a two year contract, paying $150,000 a year.

"Her focus is students, I mean you hear it through the whole interview and her intelligence, I mean she's really a smart lady. She has experience and she just knows all the facets of a school district," said School Board Treasurer Peter Manacle.

Wells replaces Superintendent Peg Greegan who resigned for personal reasons. Greegan will remain with the School district as a principal next year.

Wells takes over as Superintendent on July 7.
