Woman attacked by pit bull wants it euthanized

WAUSAU (WAOW) - Cindy Ryder is recovering from injuries she received when a pit bull attacked her while she was out walking her Chihuahua in her eastside Wausau neighborhood.

"I was there and then the dog jumped on my back and I could feel him biting me and crunching my arm. I screamed for help but by the time people arrived it was too late," said Ryder.
Ryder's  Chihuahua died in the attack.

The pit bull is being held under quarantine for 10 days at the Marathon County Humane Society.

The owner must have the dog euthanized or find a new home for it outside the city limits.

"The thought that they could move it to another location and it could to this to someone else or a child. That is just wrong. I think it should be destroyed," said Ryder.
