Golfers get to putt with Green Bay Packers

Packers fans got a chance to golf with current and former players while fighting cancer. Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids hosted the "Swing Against Cancer" fundraiser.

Four person teams got to golf with former Packers players, including Johnnie Gray, George Koonce, and Chris Jackie, and current cornerback Jarrett Bush.

"We have a good cause for it, we play some golf, and give some funding to those in need," said Jarrett Bush, Green Bay Packers Cornerback. "So, like I said, the more people, the more funding, the more sponsors, and I think it will sustain year after year."

"The sponsors get to rub elbows with the players, and talk with them, watch them swing a club," said Stanley Sukow, coordinator of the event. "It's just been great."

Sponsors also ate lunch and attended a banquet with the players. The event had 26 teams for its first year, but the goal is to fill the entire course in the future. Organizers said the money raised will go to six cancer survivors to help with their medical expenses.
