Downed power lines in Wausau neighbor

WAUSAU (WAOW) -- Wausau fire crews have been on the scene of some downed power lines near 9th Avenue and Maple Street.

Both officials and neighbors say homes are without power for blocks.

Neighbors say they heard two loud bangs and when they looked outside they saw downed power lines.

Officials say there was a small brush fire behind these homes, but they don't believe it was started by lightning.

According to Wisconsin Public Service, more than 700 customers in Wausau are without power.
