NEILLSVILLE (WAOW) - A former Abbotsford math teacher pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges accusing him of sexually assaulting two 17-year-old female students, according to online Clark County court records.
Andy Follen, 25, of Spencer, was charged in February with five felony counts of sexual assault of a student by school staff. The charges were filed just days after Follen resigned from a teaching job he had for four years.
The Jan. 24 resignation came as police looked into allegations of misconduct with a student.
No date was immediately set for Follen's trial.
According to the criminal complaint, one girl told investigators that she kissed Follen in his classroom last November and that in subsequent days it eventually led to "everything that goes with kissing."
The other girl, identified as the victim of four of the assaults, told investigators she began a sexual relationship with Follen during her volleyball season last fall, the complaint said.
The girl told investigators that one of the assaults occurred in Follen's classroom during a Saturday basketball tournament at the high school in December, the complaint said.
Follen is free on a $7,500 cash bond, court records said.
The maximum punishment for each felony count is six years in prison.
