Central Wisconsin community puts on big fireworks show

TOWN OF BIRNAMWOOD (WAOW) - A central Wisconsin community is paying big bucks for a big fireworks show.

Thursday night was the 14th annual fireworks show for Birnamwood. The show cost about $20,000.

Each year, the show boasts a fitting theme: patriotism.

Event organizers say this year the show was bigger and better than ever.

"They've got some big fireballs and sitting down the road you can feel the heat pretty good from them," said organizer Darrell Nueske. "I think we've got about 1,500 to 1,800 shells in the show this year."

The show was free.
