Newsline 9 earns Storm Ready certificate

Posted:

We know you turn to us when severe weather hits.

Now, the National Weather Service has awarded Newsline 9 with a Storm Ready supporter certificate.

The program recognizes businesses that go above and beyond to keep people safe.

It's something that has always been very important to us here at Newsline 9.

"Well, to be a storm ready supporter you have to have a severe weather safety plan in place or the building that you're in, but you also have to share that severe weather information with the viewers so that when severe thunderstorms or tornadoes threaten, people know what to do so that they're safe in severe storms," said Jeff Last from the National Weather Service.

Of course, we encourage you to have a plan in place when severe weather hits, so everyone in your family knows the safest place to go to take shelter.
