Marshfield Utilities warning of scam

Posted:

MARSHFIELD (WAOW) – Marshfield Utilities is notifying people of a utility scam. The company says calls are being made to businesses, demanding payment in order to prevent disconnection of services.

The Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry says one of the businesses called a number left behind and heard the message, “thank you for calling the disconnection department. All agents are busy at the moment. Please leave your name and number and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for choosing us and have a great day.”

If you get a call of this nature, you're asked to call Marshfield Utilities at 715-387-1195.
