Molina hurt, Lucroy to start All-Star Game

MILWAUKEE (WAOW) - Jonathan Lucroy is now the starting catcher for the National League in the MLB All-Star Game.

Lucroy, who was originally named an All-Star reserve, was promoted to the starting role after Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina suffered a thumb injury Wednesday.

The Cardinals announced Thursday that Molina will undergo surgery for a torn ligament in his thumb. He is expected to miss 8-12 weeks.

Lucroy is the third Brewer to start the game, joining Aramis Ramirez and Carlos Gomez. That is the most of any team in the National League.
