WAUSAU (WAOW) -- The crowds coming into Wausau this weekend may be here for the various events like Chalkfest and Balloon and Rib Fest, but it means big business for downtown stores.
Chalkfest organizers say the 400 Block packed in at least 1,000 people Saturday.
"There's a lot more foot traffic," said Robb Shepherd, the owner of Shepherd & Schaller Sporting Goods in Wausau. "We get a lot of residual people that want to come in and view what we have going on at our sales event that's happening throughout the weekend."
Some business owners around the 400 Block told Newsline 9 this is their busiest weekend of the summer.
