Teenager with gun arrested at Weston store

WESTON (WAOW) – A  teenager with a gun entered a convenience store early Wednesday and asked workers to call police, the Everest Metropolitan Police Department said.
It appears at this time that no one was directly threatened with the weapon and no one was injured,” Capt. Mark Hull said.
The boy told investigators he went to the store with a gun because he had "some concerns" that weren't being addressed and he wanted them addressed, Hull said. The investigator declined to elaborate.
About 2 a.m., the boy, whose age was not disclosed other than he was a teenager, asked the workers at Kwik Trip to go behind the counter, he said.
When police arrived, the workers were allowed to leave the store before the boy relinquished the “long firearm” and exited the store without incident, Hull said in a statement.
The boy was taken into custody and an evaluation by the crisis team of North Central Health Care Center was requested, Hull said.
