High School Football camps begin

The countdown to High School football has begun out on the Thorp practice field. Several teams have been participating in a 7 on 7 passing league tournament for the past three weeks. Thorp High School hosts this event annually as an opportunity for high school teams to work on the passing game and develop team chemistry. Quarterbacks work on accuracy and precision while receivers concentrate on making the big catch.

While it's mainly two-hand touch, all the teams involved find it very useful in getting ready for the upcoming season.

"It's really about coming out here and just having fun and enjoying the game of football," said Thorp Head Coach Aaron Brayton. "Getting to hang out with friends and at the same time being able to work on building some fundamentals and work on some things that maybe we don't get a lot of time to work on in the offseason."

"More than anything it's communication and being able to work on something together in the offseason without coaches," added Abbotsford Head Coach Jacob Knapmiller, "And that's huge."
