Kronenwetter police: Vandals causing problems

KRONENWETTER (WAOW) – Kronenwetter police say officers will be patrolling parks and streets more closely following a string of vandalism and thefts of road signs that has cost the village thousands of dollars in repairs and cleanup.

Last Friday, graffiti was painted across the south side of the Sunset Park shelter and the next day someone painted graffiti on one park garbage can, police said.

Other painted graffiti was found on the Kowalski Road bridge, investigators said.

Recently, vandals used a vehicle to knock down stop signs and steal the road names signs, police said.

There is no known connection to these incidents but they have mostly occurred very late at night or early in the morning, police said.

Bicycle patrols and close monitoring of juvenile curfews will be used to curtail the crimes, police said.
