Rep. Richards proposes new position to protect senior citizens

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- Wisconsin Attorney General candidate Jon Richards wants to create a new position with the State Department of Justice.

He says the position would work with local prosecutors to protect senior citizens from elderly abuse and financial fraud, and help lawmakers draft legislation to protect seniors.

Representative Richards says, "Seniors right now are facing a new level of complexity of scams that are attacking them, sometimes taking away their life savings that they worked a lifetime to build."

Richards will take on Dane County D.A. Ismael Ozanne and Jefferson County D.A. Susan Happ in the August 12th primary.
