Oneida County drowning victim identified

 A man has died after rescuers responded to him struggling in the water in Oneida County, according to Minocqua Police Department officials.

 They say the incident happened around 11 p.m. Saturday on West Minch Road in Minocqua. Officials the man was in Lake Shishebogama.

Officials say the man's family had pulled him from the water by the time crews arrived. The man was transported to the hospital. Officials say he died from his injuries.

The victim has been identified as 56-year-old Russell Steiner of West Bend, Wisconsin. 

The police chief tells Newsline 9 the incident is still under investigation, but they are treating it as a drowning.

Officials say alcohol may have been a factor in the incident.
