Northwoods League: Rafters fall big to Kalamazoo

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters weren't able to slow down Kalamazoo's offense, leading to a 14-5 defeat Monday night at Witter Field.

The normally effective Zach Jackson got roughed up in his start on the mound. The righthander from Arkansas gave seven runs on 11 hits in just five innings of work, however he did strike out eight Growlers. Connor McClain came in to relieve Jackson, but in his three innings, the junior from Central Arkansas gave up four runs on three hits.

Offensively, the Rafters had three players with two-hit games; Keelin Rasch, Ricky Ramirez, and Kirby McGuire. Rasch led the team with two RBI.

The Rafters have now lost seven of their last 10 games. They'll face the Growlers again Tuesday night at Witter Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
