Training Camp: Derek Sherrod is back in action

The Packers enjoyed their first day off of training camp on Tuesday, after just three days of practice. The collective bargaining agreement mandates that each team have one day off during the first week of camp. They will resume practicing Wednesday morning.

For the first time since his rookie year, 2011 first round pick Derek Sherrod isn't sitting out every day of training camp. The big tackle missed camp in 2012 and last year while recovering from the broken leg he suffered in November 2011.

The Packers like the way he is moving now, and he could be the first tackle off the bench. Considering the team hasn't had both tackles play all 16 games since the 2007 season, that is a pretty important position.

"I'm definitely enjoying it; anytime I'm not injured and out there with my teammates getting better and just out there running plays with them, it's a great thing," said Sherrod. "Just working on my techniques, pass and run blocking, getting stronger, and getting better in every fundamental aspect of my game."
