ROTHSCHILD (WAOW) – A 25-year-old man shot in the thigh during a disagreement with another man outside a Rothschild bar is expected to be released from the hospital Monday, Police Chief Jeremy Hunt said.

No arrests have been made in the shooting that occurred in the parking lot of P.J's Log Jam early Sunday, the police chief said.

I don't have anything at this point that we can say caused the disagreement between these individuals,” he said. “It appears this was an isolated incident.”

About 40 people were at the bar at the time of the shooting, he said.

Two males, ages 21 and 17, were arrested for disorderly conduct and obstructing an officer following the shooting as police investigated the incident, the police chief said.

ROTHSCHILD (WAOW) -- An overnight fight at a Marathon County bar ended in a shooting, which sent one man to the hospital, according to the Rothschild Police chief.

Rothschild Police Chief Jeremy Hunt says the shooting happened just after 2 a.m. on Sunday at PJ's Log Jam in Rothschild.

Hunt says a 25-year-old man received a gunshot wound and was taken to a nearby hospital. He says the extent of the man's injuries are unknown.

"There was evidence left at the scene," said Hunt. "At this point, we haven't ascertained what particular type of firearm it was."

The chief says several people were involved in the fight, but he says police still aren't sure what caused it.

"There's information that I don't know yet, so it's a little preliminary," said Hunt.

Those at the bar say it was a scary scene.

"It was just a big out brawl," said A.J. White, a witness of the shooting. "Everybody took off running."

Police say they're looking for answers as investigation is continues.

Police say so far no arrests have been made.

Newsline 9 reached out PJ's Log Jam for comment, but no one answered the phone or door.
