ROTHSCHILD (WAOW) -- More than 500 dancers stepped and sashayed their way through the Wisconsin Square Dancing Convention this weekend.
It's the 55th year of the convention but it hasn't been in north central Wisconsin for the past four years.
Sunday in Rothschild, square dancers practiced their skills.
Organizers say it's not a hard thing to pick up. They say if you can walk, you can square dance.
"It's fun, it's dancing to music, it gives you exercise, you meet a lot of friends and it's an opportunity to share something that we love doing," said Dick Hartlerode, the assistant chair of the convention.
Organizers say beginners can learn the different calls at several square dancing clubs in central Wisconsin.
