McCarthy responds after preseason loss

Posted:

The Packers are back in Green Bay with a hangover from that late loss Saturday night against the Tennessee Titans 20-16, but head coach mike McCarthy says it wasn't all bad

"I thought our defense really picked it up in the 2nd half and taking the football away. To play in this environment I think it's an incredible experience for us."

That experience coach mentioned, was the downpour during the game. The rain was coming down so heavy there were small waterfalls inside of lp field, and McCarthy says there's only so much you can do to prepare for conditions like that.

"You do the wet ball drills about once a week in training camp and you always try to hit it once a week when you get in the regular season, but to come out here and perform in the real thing this is a great experience for our football team"

While weather conditions were a major factor, the game did reveal some red flags. Ball security being one of them, Davante Adams with a target on his back after muffing two punts. The second one Tennessee took over, and turned it into their first points of the game.

"We knew ball security was going to be a challenge. Weprobablyy didn't do quite as good as we'd like there. We'll see how many times we had the ball on the ground there and the drops."
