STEVENS POINT (WAOW) – Two gas stations were robbed within minutes Monday and both were apparently solved within 30 minutes with the arrest of two suspects – thanks to eyewitnesses providing a vehicle description.
About 8:30 a.m., a lone robber demanded cash from a clerk at the Southside BP, Stevens Point Police Sgt. Tony Babl said.
“The suspect had his hand in his sweatshirt pocket implying a threat,” Babl said.
The man fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.
About 19 minutes later, as police worked the scene of the first robbery, a worker at Westside Mobil reported a similar robbery with a similar suspect, Babl said.
“Witnesses from the second robbery reported a suspect vehicle description,” Babl said in a statement.
By 9:01 a.m., the suspect vehicle was stopped and two men were arrested for questioning, Babl said.
The robbery at the Southside BP was “very similar” to one that occurred at the gas station July 21, police said.
