WAUSAU (WAOW)-- The Wausau School District has made counselors available following a deadly crash in Marathon County.
One of the girls, Deserae Landowski, attended Horace Mann Middle School.
School officials say they are prepared to help anyone who was affected by the tragedy.
Counselors at Horace Mann have set up office hours for students and families who need someone to talk to.
The district superintendent says this is a difficult time.
"I don't know all of the details but I think I know the most important part and that is that our school district has suffered a terrible tragedy," said Wausau School District Superintendent Dr. Kathleen Williams. "We know that we have lost one of our students and several others were injured and our hearts are breaking for the families."
The Horace Mann Principal Dr. Julie Sprague also commented, "We pride ourselves on being a school community and we definitely feel the loss of any student and obviously our heart-felt sympathies go out to Deserae's family friends and again the entire Horace Mann school community."
Counselors at Horace Mann Middle School are available until 7:00 p.m. Monday night and then again Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
School officials say additional times can be set up through the school.
