STEVENS POINT (WAOW) – A judge has ordered a Stevens Point man jailed on $50,000 bond in the robberies of two gas stations within minutes of each other, according to online court records.
Kenneth Groholski, 29, was arrested Monday morning less than an hour after the robberies occurred.
Police said a robber demanded cash at the Southside BP, he had his hand in his sweatshirt suggesting he had a weapon and he fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
About 20 minutes later, Westside Mobile reported a similar robbery, witnesses gave police a description of the suspect vehicle and within minutes Groholski and another man were arrested, police said.
The driver of the car was released later Monday as the investigation continued, Sgt. Tony Babl said.
Groholski appeared by video conference in Portage County Circuit Court on Tuesday and a judge ruled prosecutors showed enough evidence that he committed a crime, online court records court records said. No charges had been filed by Wednesday, the records indicate.
