Police: Man arrested in Illinois following Rothschild bar shooting
ROTHSCHILD (WAOW) – The man wanted in the shooting that wounded another man outside a Rothschild bar has been arrested in Illinois on Saturday, according to the Rothschild Police Department.
An arrest warrant was issued for Alex Hammoc, 27, in the shooting that occurred in the parking lot of P.J.'s Log Jam in early August.
A 25-year-old man was shot in the thigh during a disagreement. It's unknown what started the confrontation or whether the two men knew each other, officials said after the shooting.
Rothschild police say Hammoc was arrested in Chicago on Saturday.
Authorities say Hammoc is not facing charges in Illinois. They say he's being held at the Cook County Jail. Officials say they don't know when Hammoc will be brought back to Marathon County.
According to online Marathon County court records, Hammoc has been charged with three felonies in the shooting – first-degree recklessly endangering safety, substantial battery intending harm and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
