NEKOOSA (WAOW)-- One central Wisconsin town was hit hard by the rain Monday evening.
Residents saw flooded streets and downed trees and power lines in Nekoosa.
Officials say there were power outages, a cable line down and they say some roads were flooded.
Residents say the rain was falling hard and before they knew it their street was flooded with several inches of water.
One resident said she has three inches of water built up in her basement from Monday's storm.
Nekoosa Police Officers say older streets usually have drainage issues.
People in the area also had to deal with strong winds knocking down some trees and branches.
"It's always a concern especially when it's affecting the homes and cars and like what people have said in the past about the sewage backing up and things like that too," said Nekoosa resident Heather Sairs.
Sairs says it will take her at least a few days to clean up the mess in her basement caused by the storm.
