Hundreds celebrate gift of life at newborn intensive care unit reunion
WAUSAU (WAOW) -
Hundreds of people in Wausau celebrated the gift of life. Aspirus Wausau hospital held it's newborn intensive care unit reunion.
The celebration reunited nurses with the children and mothers they took care of.
One little boy stayed in the Anya Marie Jackson NICU for 84 days. His mother says it was the help of these nurses that saved her son's life.
"Everyone was so welcoming and really personable and I still actually keep in touch with a lot of them via Facebook now and they're always looking for updates on Camden," said Michelle Budelier of Custer.
Even though Camden has chronic lung disease and is on oxygen at night, his mother says he's getting stronger everyday.
Other children like Camden played games and enjoyed some peter pan themed fun at the party.
