A Portage County organization is easing the transition for workers laid off from a food distribution center.
The Roundy's center in Stevens Point is closing next month.
The closure means nearly 200 workers are out of jobs.
The North Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board is working with those displaced employees to help find them work.
Executive Director Rene Daniels says the 50 truck drivers are already receiving offers from other companies.
She says some workers are planning to return to school.
"I would guess at this point, you know if things work out as we hope that you know 90 percent will probably be re-employed within the next year," said Daniels.
She says the board will be helping the employees with the job search.
The director says about 40 companies have already called the organization asking to set up interviews with the Roundy's workers.
Parents left in the dark about a school threat in Tomahawk are speaking out.
