LOYAL (WAOW) - A pickup truck spun out of control after it passed a horse and buggy and flipped two times, killing the 31-year-old driver, the Clark County Sheriff's Department said Friday.
Brad L. Mews of the Town of Unity died in the crash that occurred about 3:30 p.m. Thursday on Rock Creek Road in rural Loyal, the agency said.
It was not immediately known why the pickup lost control after it passed the buggy, Sheriff Gregory Herrick said in a statement. Both vehicles were traveling eastbound on the road.
Mews, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the pickup, investigators said
CLARK COUNTY (WAOW) – A one-vehicle rollover left the driver dead after a crash in Clark County, sheriff's department officials say.
The crash happened Thursday around 3:30 p.m. in Loyal on Rock Creek Road, authorities say.
Officials say a pickup truck driver was heading east on Rock Creek Road and passed a horse and buggy. They say after the driver passed the buggy, the truck entered the ditch and rolled twice, ejecting the driver.
Authorities say the driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
They say he was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield where he later died of his injuries.
The driver's name has not been released, as officials work to notify family members.
