An outdoorswomen group is reaching out to younger generations.
Women in the Outdoors is holding its annual three-day event in Rhinelander this weekend.
The group encourages women of all ages to participate in outdoor activities.
This year, leaders say a dozen women younger than eighteen years old attended.
They say that's a record.
"They are our future," said Linda Hinz, the event coordinator. "If we don't incorporate having young women engaged in outdoor activities, or hunting and shooting sports, they'll just be taken away from us."
During the event, women could learn archery, trap shooting and more activities.
