WISCONSIN RAPIDS (WAOW) -- There's no snow on the ground, but that didn't stop people from doing a little snowmobile racing Saturday.
Riders in Wisconsin Rapids drag raced in the dirt and mud to raise money for the Tri-City Children's Dream Foundation.
Organizers say about 50 racers were there to support the foundation that grants wishes to children in the Wisconsin Rapids area with special needs.
"We try to bring something different to the area, and this is different," said foundation executive director J.R. Hildebrandt. "A lot of people have never seen grass drag racing. You mention racing snowmobiles and they ask, 'How can you race? It's summertime.' They race all year round."
Organizers say they expected to raise between $500 and $1,000.
