Wausau committee discusses possible bike path plans
WAUSAU (WAOW) -
A City of Wausau committee met Monday to discuss potential bicycle path plans for the Thomas Street development project.
The bike pedestrian advisory committee looked over the different Thomas Street proposals.
Committee members discussed how each plan would affect cyclists and walkers in the area.
The chair of the committee says safety for all users of the street is key.
"You know the city of Wausau has a really good opportunity to set the bar high with this project and they have a good opportunity to make a good complete street for all users," said committee chair Aaron Ruff. "And if they do it right Thomas Street can be great for all cyclists, all pedestrians and all motor vehicles. "
Ruff says the committee will wait to see which plan the city council chooses.
Discussions about the Thomas Street development project began more than 10 years ago.
