One injured in Marshfield apartment fire

MARSHFIELD (WAOW) - One person was taken to the hospital after an apartment fire in Wood County, according to the Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department.

Officials say the fire happened just before 8 p.m. Tuesday at 404 West 6th Street in Marshfield.

They say the upstairs apartment was on fire and filled with smoke. All occupants were able to escape the house before fire crews got on scene, according to officials.

Officials say one person was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital and the persons conditions wasn't immediately known.

They say the fire was under control within 18 minutes of the fire crews getting on scene. The upstairs apartment had extensive fire and smoke damage and the downstairs apartment experienced water damage.
