Marshfield woman accused of Social Security theft

MADISON (WAOW) – A 50-year-old Marshfield woman has been accused of stealing nearly $30,000 from the Social Security Administration.

U.S. Attorney John Vaudreuil said a grand jury indicted Grimhilde Hanni Schwin with stealing $27,420 in Social Security disability payments from October 2010 to June. The indictment was handed down Wednesday.

The charge carries a maximum punishment of 10 years in federal prison, the prosecutor said.

No date has been set for Schwin to make an initial appearance in federal court when more details of the accusations will be made public, Assistant U.S, Attorney Peter Jarosz.
