MARSHFIELD (WAOW) -
Some fair fun is underway in our area.
The Central Wisconsin State Fair kicked off Wednesday in Marshfield.
The theme this year is Country Pride County Wide.
The fair has been going on for nearly a century.
Organizers say all the popular favorites are back such as the junior fair, the petting zoo, rides, and all the food. There's even a new activity for children to check out.
"Farmer for a day is a thing for children to do to kind of enact what it would be like to be a farmer and just the different chores the farmers do," said Central Wisconsin State Fair general manager Adam Fischer.
Some famous names will take to the stage to perform including Howie Day, David Nail, and the Marshall Tucker Band.
