3 children struck on way to school

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Authorities say three children were struck by a car as they crossed the street on their way to school in Milwaukee.

Fire officials say the children were clipped by the car while walking to Clement Avenue School in the Bay View neighborhood Thursday morning.

Fire department spokeswoman Amanda Lanaghan tells the Journal Sentinel the three -- ages 10 and 11 -- were not seriously injured, but were transported to a hospital.
