A former Olympic athlete is in court Monday.
Sentencing began in a South African court room for Oscar Pistorius.
Pistorius was charged in September with killing his model girlfriend.
He could know his fate as early as Monday, but the process could take several days of legal argument and testimony.
Last month, a South African judge convicted the double-amputee runner of culpable homicide, a less serious charge than murder.
His sentence could range from a suspended sentence and a fine, to as much as 15 years in prison.
Pistorius was charged after his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, a 29-year-old model was killed on Valentine's Day in 2013.
Prosecutors claim Pistorius opened fire in anger after the couple argued.
Pistorius said he believed he was shooting an intruder, not Steenkamp.
Roughly 100 people gathered in Columbia Park in Marshfield Tuesday evening for a vigil in response to the events in Charlottesville Saturday.
