Touching touchdown inspires athletes and parents

DALLAS, PA (ABC) -- A touching touchdown in Dallas, PA is inspiring parents and athletes across the country.

Mike Olenginski helped his brother, Justin, to the end zone in a game Saturday night.

Mike is a running back and linebacker for the football team.

"I honestly never thought I`d be able to take my brother out on the field," Mike Olenginski said.

Video shared on YouTube shows how after weeks of planning, parents and coaches made Justin the honorary team captain for the school's first ever home game at night.

"I scored a touchdown," Justin Olenginski exclaimed.

The freshman with special needs lived out a dream wearing a uniform alongside his brother and crossed into the end zone.

The points did not go on the scoreboard, but people on the field in the stands say it was the biggest play of the night.

Dallas school district administrators say the moment offered an important lesson.

"An energizing experience for what we take for granted everyday. You know, to see his brother carry him off the field, it was heartfelt," said Superintendent Frank Galicki.
