WAUSAU (WAOW) -- A former Wausau East High School student has designed a robotic mouse for cats. It's called the "Mousr."
Michael Friedman says he and some friends have been working together on this project since February.
Friedman is a self-proclaimed cat lover and says he wanted to create a cat toy that can play with cats. That's when he and two friends got together and created a business called Petronics.
Friedman spent several months in China developing the robotic mouse.
He says the mouse has a camera that "allows it to navigate, hide under tables, hide under couches and play with cats."
The robot is also programmed to behave like a living creature.
"For example, a cat would come running this way and the robot would take off and it can start playing games and hiding," explained Friedman.
The current design costs more than a hundred dollars. It's not for sale yet, but Friedman plans to release the product next year.
