WAUSAU (WAOW) -- Wausau is gearing up to host its annual holiday parade. According to event organizers, it's a tradition that dates back at least 25 years.
More than 70 floats will line up at Marathon Park.
Judges will be on hand to pick out the best floats based on five categories: “The Winter Wonderland Float,” “The Twinkle Float,” “Best Themed Float," “The Best Walking Float,” and “The Best Reason for the Season Float.”
"They'll be looking for the lights, the action and the decorations that they put together," said Terry Geurick, the committee chair for the holiday parade.
Kick-off is at 6:30 p.m. The parade ends on the 400 block in Wausau.
Following the parade, the Great Hall will host a warming party. There, Mrs. Claus will read a story. There will also be cookies, hot chocolate, and crafts for kids.
