THROWBACK THURSDAY: 2002 Packers fan bus trip

GREEN BAY (WAOW) -- It's throwback Thursday as Newsline 9 celebrates 50 years on the air. As the packers get ready to take on the Seahawks this weekend -- we head back to 2002.

Central Wisconsin green and gold fans boarded a bus for Lambeau to see the Pack take on the 49ers.

"The guys have been very rowdy since about 7 o'clock in the morning," said WIFC radio host Dave Kallaway.

They must have been rowdy, because they showed up at the Stadium View Bar in Green Bay with some crazy looks.

Jason Morrey and his wife usually go to Packers games together and he says his face isn't anything out of the ordinary.

"It was my wife's creation, the inspiration for it," Morrey said.

A group of Central Wisconsin radio stations sponsored this bus trip and tailgate party. It was a full day of entertainment. The high point was the game, of course, but there were activities on the bus ride, too.

Face painting, yes, but also lots more.

Even fans who had never been to Lambeau Field, were in postseason form, just like their team. This group left Colby at 6:15 in the morning, just for a chance to see the Frozen Tundra.

The Packers went on to win that game 25-15, but they lost the following week to the St. Louis Rams.
