Man dies after vehicle goes through Lake Winnebago ice
OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) -- A 40-year-old Sussex man has died after his vehicle fell through the ice on Lake Winnebago.
Emergency crews were called just before 7 a.m. Sunday to the lake about two miles east of Oshkosh's Merritt Street boat landing. The operator of an all-terrain vehicle called for help after watching the vehicle fall through.
Divers from the Oshkosh Fire Department pulled the man and his 8-year-old son from the water. The two were taken to a hospital where the man died. Post-Crescent Media reports the condition of the boy wasn't immediately available.
Winnebago County sheriff's deputies didn't release their names pending notification of the family.
