UPDATE Girl Scout cookies delayed but not here

One of the suppliers of Girl Scout cookies is behind in the production of thin mints, which may cause some delays in getting cookies delivered.

But the problem shouldn't effect deliveries in Wisconsin, authorities said Thursday.

Melissa Loest, a spokeswoman for Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes, which includes central and northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of
Michigan, said those chapters use cookies made by ABC Bakers in Iowa.

"They have no inventory supply issues and will easily fulfill all cookie orders," she said. "There will be no shortages in this area."

ABC Bakers is part of Interbake Foods LLC, a Richmond, Va.-based manufacturer of cookies and crackers.

Little Brownie Bakers is behind in production of thin mints.

Girl Scouts sells around 200 million boxes of cookies each season and about 25 percent of those boxes are thin mints.
