TOMAHAWK (WAOW)- Jim Wise of Tomahawk is our Jefferson Award winner.According to his nomination form he has volunteered for just about every activity you can imagine in Tomahawk.Wise says he started out giving his time to help out with activities his children were involved with.In 1999, Wise and his wife helped develop the Tomahawk Downtown Business Council.Later it morphed into the Mainstreet Program and they are still involved in it.
"These downtown's need attention and an intentional effort to keep them going, if you don't form an organization to do that they will slip away," Jefferson Award winner Jim Wise.
Wise says he has a passion for the environment and preserving the past.
He continues to be involved in many activities often working behind the scenes and he encourages others to find something they have a passion for to make it even better.
