WESTON (WAOW)- Members of the Weston 3 React Construction Staff dyed their beards green Tuesday morning.
The event was about more than just St. Paddy's Day cheer.
It was to raise money for the Never Forgotten Honor Flight.
"Everyone is either kin to or knows someone who fought in World War II and in the Korean battle as well and we are supporting them and honoring them. If they didn't get a chance to be honored we want to make sure that they are," said Wiley Raborn, the event's organizer.
More than 50 people took part and their goal was to raise $500.
At noon organizers revealed the workers raised over $10,000.
Boldt Construction matched the fundraiser pushing the total over $20,000.
Spokesmen for the Never Forgotten Honor Flight say the donation will make it possible for up to 50 veterans to travel to Washington, D.C. to see the war memorials built in their honor.
